PERSONALITY:
→ Rachel Ascot's greatest trait, skill and advantage is her charisma, and she is very experienced in using it to get what she wants. She spends much of her time mingling with both the cream of society and the masses and can play both to her will. She's an immediate presence in the room, a wildness in her eyes and a confidence in her stride - she's a playgirl in many ways, a lust of life flowing through her bones and an infectious sense of fun. She's an eccentric and a party animal, but one who also acts with enough confidence in her life to look wise, making her difficult to not like. Most of all, she was blessed with the gift of the gab; the way she speaks and the words she chooses always seem the right ones to charm and impress, either being friendly and personable or grand and powerful.
Rachel certainly has the brains to back her words up; she's wily, sly and calculating, with a cool head on her shoulders. She has a knack for reading people and can immediately use that to her advantage, often pegging people before they even speak to her. However, she often doesn't seem it. She's never been known not to have a grin on her face, and for a good reason; she's somewhere between eccentric and completely deranged. There's a constant energy in every one of her motions make her seem like a terrier of a person, yipping and yapping at all times.
Rachel is impulsive, bold and shameless. She's essentially the kind of person who would (and did) buy an elephant as a pet on a whim, or turn up at a white tie ballroom dance in a cake and completely naked. She isn't stupid, but she combines a cool head and street wisdom with not enough insanity to be genuinely insane, but enough and then some to make her dangerous to match wits with and doubly dangerous to try and plan around; if someone attempts to pull one over on her, they can expect her to act completely against every expectation.
However, her faults are certainly not small in number, the biggest one being a product of her upbringing. She's reactive rather than proactive, and has always slipped into the right place rather than worked towards it. In short, she's lazy. Exceedingly so. She'd rather party all day and night, and simply have the world leave her to it. She is exceedingly capable in the role as Queen of Creta, but she always seems more interested in something else. Since her rise to power, Rachel's become known as the leader who acts least like royalty. Rather than downplay her eccentricity, she's brought it front and centre, freely indulging in the wildest excesses and maddest nonsense she can afford. Some think it's an act to throw her opponents off. Some think that Rachel's finding it difficult to give up the life of the party. Some think she's just an unhinged loon.
The truth is simply that she enjoys it.
LOVE:
→ Samson II the Elephant
→ Parties
→ Alcohol
→ Annoying everyone
→ Full frontal male nudity
→ Full frontal female nudity (though she insists it was just a phase)
HATE:
→ Cooking
→ Her father
→ Particularly hard work
→ Studying
→ Social injustice
ALIGNMENT:
→ Chaotic Good (emphasis on chaotic)
STRENGTHS:
→ Perceptive; Rachel is equipped with a near magic ability to read people. She can take one look at someone and tell them their life story, goals and what they had for breakfast
→ Charismatic; though her demeanor can be grating at times, she could charm a leopard's spots off and have an affair with each one. This also makes her a fantastic manipulator.
→ Cyborg; being a cyborg, she is essentially immortal, bulletproof and super strong. Each of her arms can put 9 tons of pressure per square inch, and given that she weighs over a ton, she can deliver pain hard if she needs to
→ Unpredictable; if anyone makes plans against her, the only thing that anyone can guarantee is that it will go wrong. She never follows scripts, and has learnt to use her own impulsiveness as a weapon
→ Adaptable; very little phases her. With a knack for adapting to any given situation, she is at heart a politician; weaving and wiggling out of any bad situation and finding a way to benefit from it, all with a calm air
→ Intelligent; some have called her insane, but there are very few who'd accuse Rachel of being stupid after a first encounter; Rachel's head works several miles a minute faster than anyone else
→ Three left arms; a lot of use comes out of this, including shredding sweet riffs on the guitar, keytar and... other uses
WEAKNESSES:
→ Lazy; although possessing a genius level intellect, Rachel doesn't often apply herself fully to many tasks, making some people wonder just what kind of things she could bring but chooses to squander
→ Antiquated; born in a different era and being dead for the last twenty five years means that a lot of stuff has passed her by, and she needs to learn how the new world works
→ Robotic; Rachel is entirely reliant on batteries to live; remove the battery, and she has about 24 hours of back up juice left to go. Still, putting a battery back in her will revive her
→ Untrained; though her cyborg nature makes Rachel extremely dangerous as a physical opponent, she actually has no formal martial arts training and relies entirely on brute force in a fight, so she's not nearly as fierce as she could be
→ Lazy Part 2; as an extra point against her, Rachel could tear an Abrams tank apart, but she'd much rather try to use diplomacy or her wits as her main weapons, which adds to her inexperience in a fight
→ Ruthless; surprising, given her demeanor, but while her goals are idealistic and optimistic in nature, she will betray, blackmail and deceive her way into getting whatever she needs if she thinks it's the right thing
→ Heavy; don't carry her, and if you have sex with her then be on top. She weighs as much as a large car

Chapter 1: Duchess of the Streets
The bizarre tale of this equally bizarre woman begins with her being kicked onto the street at the age of sixteen by her father. Frederick Ascot had spent all of her childhood trying to give her all the chances she could get, attempting to mold her into the perfect child, but while Frederick himself had been lauded as a child prodigy when he was her age, Rachel was considered lazy and wasting every chance she was given. In a fit of rage, Frederick marched into Rachel's room and forced her out of the house, telling her to "... get out of my sight and make something of yourself already!"
Rachel was alone, without anyone to turn to.. She learnt little from her formative years, but she knew she only needed one skill; the gift of the gab. She moved to Atlas City, knowing the big city would hold the connections she needed to plough her way to greatness, and slid her way into a job as bellhop in one of the more upmarket hotels in Atlas City. Specifically, the hotel many of Creta's richest men and women, the lords and ladies of the land, the cream of Creta. Rachel turned her charm on full and made friends fast. She was invited to places and parties, becoming more and more famous within the world of the wealthy. Soon, she was one of Atlas City's cultural elite despite being a homeless bellhop on dirt pay. Dirt pay, that is, without all the outrageous tips she got. Soon she rose to be the co-manager of the hotel. Then she became the manager of one of the ballrooms her rich friends frequented. Then the owner of one of the biggest nightclubs in Atlas City, it wasn't long until Rachel became one of the most well-known faces in Atlas City. Then she was made an honourary duchess.
Frederick Ascot heard about this news and was horrified. Rachel never visited him, but did send messages to rub it into his face. In a fit of drunken rage, he got in his car and disappeared into the night. Some thought he was dead, but Rachel didn't care either way; as far as she felt, abandoning her was the nicest thing he did.

Chapter 2: Madwoman on the Throne
What sweeped to Creta in the following months was a war; RIOTE hammered through Creta on its way to destroy Amestris, leaving the country in rubble. Shortly after the then prime minister and king Dietrich was put into a coma in the aftermath of that wart, many in the House of Lords suddenly found a golden opportunity; Duchess Ascot was merely a nightclub owner, and not even closely related to the heir, but they all liked her and thought that she could be easily swayed by their whim. As such, suddenly a whole lot of loopholes were found, and Duchess Ascot was suddenly Rachel I of Creta. Just a simple pawn of their true intent, surely?
Rachel Ascot, as it turned out, was no pawn.
Rachel's speech at the coronation was one of new beginnings, but filled with anger and compassion. She proudly boasted that she was no slave to tradition or to corporate corruption, and outlined her plan to unify the world. It was a rousing speech that won her the popularity of the common man and woman, fear from the businessfolk she railed against, and mild amusement from many of the other world leaders, who saw it as idealistic and naive. Rachel, though, was anything other than naive; she began to subtly but rapidly gather cards into her hand that would help her get the unity she wanted. She made a series of elusive and profitable deals with Carraig and strengthened her ties to Amestris and Aerugo. All in the effort of making friends of friends, and increasing her fellow leaders' reliance on her and each other. At home, too, she had almost singlehandedly flipped the country's philosophies on their head; the harsh and unwelcoming country steeped in tradition and shock from the war became a pseudo-communist state that proudly touted amongst its strengths a vibrant culture of artists, a strong engineering sector and an open door policy on immigration.
Even when the Deadlight Virus hit, Rachel wasn't put out of her stride, immediately using RIOTE's weakened state to snatch the Drachman seas away from them, and taking in many Drachman refugees into Creta. Suddenly Creta went from a weakened, small country on the geo-political landscape into one of the biggest economic powers in the world. Plus, the virus meant that everyone was in the same boat;hoping to cure the virus and save each other from disaster. To this end, Rachel herself personally volunteered to be a guinea pig in looking for a cure, even if that meant being injected with all sorts of mad substances. While not through circumstances she wished or could control, Rachel had the unification that she wanted.
This is when it almost all fell apart.

Chapter 3: Prisoner in the Palace
The increased economic power of Creta was certainly not to the benefit of the lords and ladies of the country. They in fact lost a lot of money as the gap between rich and poor shrank. This all coming from someone who they had found as a homeless bellhop. Queen Rachel owed them everything, and this is how she thanked them. So a mysterious figure whose name is lost to history made a suggestion; why not take it back?
So it was that several lords and ladies, led by Charles Johann Daniel Warrington-Smith, the Earl of Lorriborough, turned up on the Palace doorsteps with a small militia, locked Rachel in, and declared Creta a republic. Although the coup was unpopular, there wasn't much that anyone could do about it, so far as they were aware. The attack had come as a complete shock, and the man behind the plot, very obviously not the Earl, had clearly been planning this for years. Even the Cretan military, with their new leaders calling the shots, weren't able to do anything. Rachel was under house arrest and accused of high treason. There was a sham trial the day after the Republic of Creta was set up, and she was sentenced to be executed the next week. Imprisoned without access to the outside world and with a 24/7 guard, the lordship of Creta were sure that this was the end of the queen.
The Republic of Creta collapsed within two days.
After all the precautions taken to stop her from communicating with the outside world, it was with her simply talking to her guards that started the problems. Using the same weapon that she had always used, her charm and charisma, she weaseled her way out of the palace, and took most of the militia with her. The ultimate mastermind of the coup vanished, though Rachel has plenty of suspicions as to who it was, but she had everyone else involved in the coup rounded up and arrested. There wasn't a shred of dissent left, and the uproariously popular queen returned to be crowned again to standing ovations.
No sooner did she put the crown on her head for the second time that she very suddenly, and very anti-climatically, slumped onto a buffet tray, dead.
The consequences of her signing up as a guinea pig for scientists to test vaccines and substances for dealing with the Deadlight Virus caught up to her far quicker than anyone even noticed, and her own selflessness did what political enemies and even revolutions could not; killed the Queen. At first, people thought that it was a joke; it was far too sudden, no symptoms of any kind prior, but then the realisation set in as the days rolled by. To add further mystery, her body was stolen before it could be buried, and in the twenty five years since her death no one has been identified as the culprit.
Rachel I of Creta is remembered as a divisive figure; her reign's brevity was only matched by how radical the changes it brought in were. Her death brought about the knowledge of the sheer number of strings she was pulling, manipulating the world stage like puppets, all to protect the little people. Some of those closest to her were shocked and appalled by her lies, some considered it a necessary evil to fix a world on the brink of destructive war, and some considered it a work of genius. Her impact on Creta was felt in all sectors of life, too; the rise of left wing politics throughout, the economic boost, and the rapid growth of culture. Subsequent decades saw Creta as a mostly neutral force in the world stage, its people focusing on parties and art and all the things its dead queen had loved. It currently has one of the most burgeoning artistic cultures, a nightclub on every corner and just about every day being an excuse for a parade, and it boasts one of the highest ratings of satisfaction of the people by government. All thanks to a woman who, upon her first day on the throne, many had written off as idealistic and mad.
And then, to Rachel's shock, she woke up.

Chapter 4: Ghost in the Machine
Sometime in the 2020's, Earl Jebediah Daniel Warrington-Smith, son of the original Earl of Lorriborough, managed to find the body of the dead queen. She had, in fact, been preserved. The moment he acquired the body, he began a terrible experiment that would take well over a decade to complete. Using the most powerful processor on Earth, the human brain, Jebediah took Rachel's corpse and turned it into nothing less than a weapon. With strength to match tanks and a whole new way of seeing, Rachel Ascot's dead body would become the tool that would see the Earl step up to rule the Republic of Creta that was his birthright.
It took four attempts, but Rachel Ascot v4 was created. Unbeknownst to the Earl, however, Rachel has actually woken up within the machine. Retaining her memories, she decided that her best course of action was to play along; after all, if Jebediah realised that the original personality had returned, then he'd start a whole new version and kill her all over again. So instead, she simply pretended to be the soulless weapon he wanted; a machine made to destroy all the Earl's opponents. Behind his back, though, Rachel used her greatest weapon, her silver tongue, in the hour she needed it most; one of the scientists working on her now went to tell the Cretan government what is happening.
Now all Rachel can do is wait until someone saves her, and brings the queen back to her throne.
