It was just dark enough to be up to no good. That stage between twilight and dusk in which teenagers and young adults sneak around and get into far too much trouble. Such young adults would include two troublesome twins. Reno, one of the twins, turned to his sister with a mischievous grin and paused near the treeline. They'd chosen to sneak in through a forest, finding it easy to hide within the crisscrossed shadows. Of course, Reno did happen to trip over at least a half dozen roots. Why did so many trees decide that it was a good idea to just throw their legs up in the air like that? They acted like they owned the damn forest! Gosh! The two twins had been traveling all day, and Reno had many cuts and bruises to show for it. He was active, yes, but that doesn't mean that he's good at hiking. He's pretty clumsy, honestly.
"Oi, Lachi keep up, will ye?" There wasn't a need to say it, really. Lachina had been keeping up quite well, and was actually in the lead most of the time. Finally they made it out of the retched forest of doom and death. Reno leaned around a tree, inhaling the refreshing scent of night time. It was a bit cold, yes, but it wasn't too terrible. The wind could gtfo though. The chilly fingers of death danced through the air and whipped Reno's hair in front of his face. The braids on either side of his face beat at his cheeks. "We can sneak in from the side, there." He motioned, pointing towards a crack in the wall. It was almost comical how perfect this was. Dark night, giant creepy castle, perfect hole in the castle wall. "Innit it odd?" He asked, squinting at the scene. "How perfact t'is....Too perfact."
Reno then turned his eyes to the sky. These deep, dangerous looking clouds were beginning to roll in as the wind picked up. "Looks like it migh' ra-" Thunder. Showers. Wind. Lightning. Wet twins. "Aye! Run! Ahaha! Run!" Laughing, Reno took off towards the castle, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Lachi was following him. Of course she would be, any excuse to run and she was, quite literally, leaping at the opportunity. | | Words. 382 Tags. Lachina O'Reilly Notes.Lachina technically hasn't been approved yet. Left, right, left, right, left, right, left.
The quick pitter-patter of footfall softly echoed in the dark and mystical forest, a marvel unique to the humble nation of Carraig. Odd, it was, that such a technologically profound land could maintain such rustic simplicity as forests and castles in this day and age. In a world of nano-chip phones and laser-technology, a time when men can, and have, traveled the stars, so to speak, the quaint sight of dark green foliage was a pleasant one, and always reminded Lachina of fairy tales that her mother told her as a child. She liked the forest.
Although it would be a sure bit nicer if Reno would keep up!
"Reno, ya bampot, quit'yer baytin' off back there'n catch up! Here's me full til', an' you're slow's a auld mog, ye'are! Oi..." Shaking her head as she turned back around from teasing her twin, she nevertheless slowed down just enough to let him (eventually) take the lead, as they ventured onward to adventure.
Continuing to travel, she made a point of drawing forth her drumsticks to occupy her time, idly working out a quick beat on her upper thigh. Da dikadikadika da dika da dika dikada dididididika da da da dika daka dika da. Good old snare drumming. She was, alas, snapped out of it by Reno telling her to keep up, to which she stuck out her tongue. However, they were soon out of the forest, and the castle, their target destination, was in sight.
Nodding, she followed her brother's line of sight to the crack in the wall. That was definitely where they could enter... Though she had to admit, there could be anything in there; ghosts, ghouls, or ev-
BOOOOOM.
The loud roar of thunder and the sudden onslaught of the rain were all Lachina needed to hear, moving before her brother could even utter the words, clearing the distance to the crack in a matter of seconds, before turning to Reno, still running, and laughing heartily; "C'mon, Reno, ya wee quine, scairt've a l'il spat'o rain, haha!~"

Reno panted as he caught up with Lachina. It hadn't taken too long to get to cover, but in the short time he'd spent in the rain, he'd gotten completely soaked. Hopefully, it'd be warm in the castle that they were about to infiltrate, giving him the chance to sort of dry off. Honestly, Reno was considering the idea of just ditching his clothes and wandering around the place naked. Nothing like a good drip-dry. But he had his sister with him, and he wasn't going to scar the poor girl's eyes with his fire crotch. He could be a nice brother sometimes.
"Och mah god.'" Reno grumbled and cursed at the rain, shaking his hair out much like a dog would. He hated the feeling of wet clothing sticking to his body. He also hated storms with a passion, finding the loud rumbling of thunder to be a bit loud for his taste. Also pretty scary, but he would probably never admit that to anyone. Not even Lachina, though the way he flinched with the lightning and whined during loud thunder made his fear kind of obvious. "C'mon let's git gaun. We kin git ben fae richt ower thare. "
The inside of the castle was warm and dry, just as Reno had hoped. He hadn't expected such a building to be cold and wet, but it was a lot nicer than he'd anticipated. "Och wow, ah cuid bide 'ere forever. Let's juist shift 'ere. Na yin wid notice." His house at home was pretty awesome, but this castle was amazing. The decorations inside were intricate tapestries and carpets. "Isnae this amazing? awright keek at this knight. Ye think ah cuid tak' th' armor 'n' wear it aroond?" He reached out, his hand just barely touching the smooth metal before lightning flashed, illuminating the knight armor in a rather frightening way. A loud crack of thunder reverberated around the room, along with a rarely manly squeal from a certain boy.
Pouting a bit indignantly, Reno just moved down the hall. "See ony side passages? howfur dae we git oot o' this loaby?" Another flash lit up the somewhat-dark hall and Reno paused in his tracks, face paling. "Did ye see that? something wis thare! A clocked it!" | | Words. 378 Tags.
